If you want to get more of what you want in every area of your life, then you need to know how to increase your social status.
Today, I’m about to share with you the exact same process that I used to develop a magnetic personality and connect with others with ease.
What You'll Learn In This Post
What Is High Social Status?
Having high social status means people think well of you.
You’re respected by your peers due to the work that you do, access to resources, and you’re influence on others.
As a shy immigrant who used to barely speak English, this was something that I wanted to figure out.
I was so tired of feeling left out so I wanted to know how to be accepted by others and also have them respect me as well.
Is Social Status Important?
Having a high social status is important because it increases the chances of you getting what you want in every area of your life.
When you’re popular, you’ll have access to a higher caliber network, have better career opportunities, and also have more options for dating.
Because I used to be socially inept, I used to envy those who were socially savvy which made me determined to figure out how to be socially confident.
Signs Of High Status
If you’re wondering about signs of high status, here are some of the most common ones that I’ve noticed after interacting with socially adept individuals.
- They are non-reactive because they feel secure in themselves
- They feel comfortable in social situations and tend to take up space
- They groom themselves well and wear clothes that make them appear attractive
How To Raise Your Social Status
1. Be Empathetic
When I was younger, I had a tough time fitting in with others.
Growing up in the Philippines and being raised in Saudi Arabia, I was exposed to different cultural norms.
That being said, in order to influence those around you, you need to understand them first.
From Shy To Social
Discover proven steps to approach and talk to anybody no matter how shy you are.
If you’re wondering how to increase social status, you have to be empathetic.
You have to be able to put yourself in other people’s situations and see where they’re coming from.
To help you with this, I highly encourage you to educate yourself on how to be more socially confident.
It’s a skill that can be learned with the right information and enough practice.
You also have to be able to read social cues and understand the norms in your environment.
You can do this by observing how people interact with each other in public places.
Pay close attention to their body language and facial expressions as well.
By doing so, you’ll figure out how to be less awkward and become more socially savvy very quickly.
2. Validate Yourself
It’s hard to come across as someone confident and charismatic if you always seek approval from others.
If you want to know how to increase social status, you have to be able to validate yourself.
If not, then you’ll constantly feel hesitant because you don’t trust yourself.
Not to mention, you’ll be less likely to speak up and put yourself out there because you’re too afraid to make mistakes.
If you’re wondering how to be more outspoken, you need to raise your self-esteem.
The best way to do this is to start making a list of your positive traits and all your previous accomplishments.
If you do this long enough, you’ll feel good about who you are and increase your self-worth.
You’ll be less intimidated by others and you’ll act like yourself more in any situation.
3. Be The Organizer
Remember, the host of any party always has the highest social value.
That’s why you have to be decisive and take the initiative.
Be the first one to reach out and make plans with people in your network.
Don’t be that person who’s sitting at home on a Friday night waiting for others to hit them up and do something.
By being the organizer, you’ll be perceived as a leader in your group as well.
Doing this doesn’t have to be anything complicated.
It can be as simple as hosting a happy hour at a trendy restaurant and inviting people to come out.
If you want to create an active social life, host your own events as much as you can.
By doing so, that’s how you get invited to more parties.
Naturally, those who come to your get-togethers will want to reciprocate and include you in their plans as well.
The more you do this, the faster you’ll expand your network.
4. Assume People Like You
Remember, you get exactly what you think about the most.
If you’re wondering how to increase your social status, you have to be mindful of what you focus on.
From what I’ve noticed, those who struggle socially tend to exaggerate the worst-case scenario in their heads.
They think about it so much that’s why they often feel uncomfortable around people.
To succeed socially, you need to challenge your assumptions.
Check out this video if you want to know how to stop overanalyzing social interactions.
Instead of always thinking others won’t like you, why not do the opposite?
To help you with this, just imagine how you’d treat an old friend that you haven’t seen in a while.
That’s exactly what you want to be focusing on whenever you interact with people.
When you assume that you’ll get along well with others, then you’ll act in ways to make that happen.
5. Create A Life Vision
Remember, you’ll have a hard time figuring out how to increase social status if you don’t have much going for you.
If you don’t do things differently, then you’ll constantly experience boredom and loneliness.
That being said, I highly encourage you to set aside some time and create a vision for your life.
Check out this podcast interview with Evan Carmichael, Personal Development YouTuber, where he talks about how to reach your full potential.
Personally, I like to go over my personal and professional goals on a daily basis.
That’s why I’m jumping out of bed every morning because I have something exciting to wake up to.
Not to mention, having ambition will also make you more appealing to others.
When you know what you want you’ll start to care less about what people think of you as well.
By having goals that you’re moving towards, you’ll be able to generate happiness from within.
You’ll become less needy which will help you figure out how to attract people in your life much easier.
6. Present Yourself Well
Whether you like it or not, your looks really do matter.
Your style, body language, and overall demeanor are the first few things people see.
If you want to learn how to increase social status, you need to pay attention to the way you present yourself.
To help you appear more friendly, make sure you have an open body language.
Stand up straight, pull your shoulders back, and avoid crossing your arms or legs.
Maintain proper eye contact and have a genuine smile on your face.
Also, make sure your clothes are clean, up-to-date, and well-fitting.
Remember to groom yourself properly as well.
When you look like someone worth getting to know, you’ll give off a great first impression to others.
People will assume positive things about you and they’ll take what you have to say more seriously.
7. Always Be Learning
Remember, a boring life leads to boring conversations.
If you want to know how to increase social status, you can’t just go to work, go home and do nothing else.
Make an effort to learn new things and expose yourself to novel experiences on a consistent basis.
Tired Of Feeling Lonely?
If you’re struggling socially and would like some help, let’s connect.
For example, if it’s within your budget, book a trip and travel somewhere you haven’t been to yet.
You can also listen to audiobooks on your commute or while you’re running errands.
You can take up a social hobby as well so you can develop a new skill and expand your network at the same time.
By doing these things, you’ll become a high-value person.
You’ll expand your perspective and you’ll be able to relate to people much easier.
You’ll become more interesting to talk to and you’ll always have something to discuss with others in any situation.
8. Have A Sense Of Humor
I don’t know about you but I don’t like being around someone who’s so serious all the time.
If you want to figure out how to increase social status, you need to be more relaxed and easygoing.
Growing up in a traditional Asian family, having a sense of humor didn’t come naturally to me.
I was too focused on getting good grades in school that’s why I was so serious all the time.
That being said, you can learn how to make people laugh if you want to.
And once you do, you’ll be able to lighten up the mood in any situation.
You’ll become more fun to be around and people will enjoy your company more.
To help you with this, I encourage you to watch more comedy shows.
When something amuses you, take the time to analyze the structure, timing, and delivery of the joke.
And then, do what you can to implement what you learned the next time you interact with people.
Just make sure you don’t overdo this though.
You don’t want to be that person who’s joking around always trying to get a reaction from everybody else.
People won’t take you as seriously and you’ll end up coming across as someone trying way too hard.
9. Tell Good Stories
There’s no way around it.
If you’re wondering how to increase social status, you need to be able to communicate effectively.
That’s why you have to figure out how to tell good stories.
By doing so, you’ll be able to explain your ideas to others in a way that makes sense to them.
That being said, the next time you share something, make sure you structure it well by having a beginning, middle, and end.
Set up your story by giving some background information and creating some contrast if it applies.
Leave out necessary facts and use descriptive words to engage the senses.
Whatever you do, avoid using technical terms that only your co-workers would comprehend.
You’ll want to emphasize how things make you feel instead.
And then, release the tension once you conclude your story.
To improve your delivery, use your hands to accentuate your points and vary your tonality when you speak.
When you do these things, you’ll be able to hold people’s attention much better in any social situation.
10. Always Be Adding Value
Remember, a relationship is like a bank account.
You need to deposit more than you withdraw.
If you want to know how to increase social status, always be adding value to your network.

It could even be as simple as giving someone a genuine compliment.
Don’t be that person who only reaches out to others when you need something.
I know people like that I do my best to stay away from them.
By making an effort to improve the lives of those around you, you stand out in a good way.
You’ll be the first to come to mind when others think of a good opportunity.
You’ll also have people be there for you during your time of need.
